Barometric Pressure Confusion

Recommended Posts

If someone could help me understand a little more about barometric pressure readings, I’d really appreciate your input.
So, at sea level air pressure should be around 29.92 inHg. I live at an altitude of 3500’, mathematically the air pressure here should be about 26.3 inHg. However, whenever I look at weather conditions it’s almost always above 29.5 inHg. Why and how could this be the case?

Patiently Awaiting a response.
