False hope for sure... the EPS shows no break in the pattern and trending in the wrong direction. Just wet for the foreseeable future. The 18Z GFS is pointless to analyze.

Imagine how far those booms would have travelled had the CFS delivered its -30F arctic air it had promised us.

If you want false hope the 18z gfs is decent for that. Only model to slow down the pacific.

I feel like that’s a likely progression. Generally staying active but cooler as we move through January. I have been way off on this winter so far though.
