In fairness to Andrew... there is a usually a 3-month period when its generally dry here (which is what he said) but it varies from year to year so its not always just looking at JJA or even JAS. Sometimes its mid-June through mid-September so you wouldn't see that 3-month dry spell in either JJA or JAS because there was rain in early June and late September. Up here we get frequently get decent rain in August too.
