When does the Canadian government plan to give the "people whose ancestors were brought to the land against their will" and the "people whose ancestors fled their countries of origin to escape oppression and genocide" their park shut down days? Just curious.
Furnace came on this morning when can I end the daily Freeze Warnings?? At least we’ve managed to progress a bit deeper into spring with tulips and flowering trees in bloom. My buddy at The Straights is nearly snow-free:
Just an FYI, if you’re not aboriginal you won’t be allowed in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park from June 20-27, nor from September 8-30. Don’t know when exactly you plan on being in that area next month. It’s sad & angering that unless you’re a certain ethnicity, you’re slowly being cut off from the land one’s taxes dollars go towards maintaining. Private owned fee simple property is up for claims by competing aboriginal tribes. Sure, this dabbles into politics, but worth the heads up for Americans travelling to B.C. as politics barges into just getting out to enjoy this beautiful creation.
