We went out and watched the Festival parade yesterday. It has a little more humid than we expected but nonetheless it was comfortable weather and not too hot. It was the best parade I ever saw, lots of great floats this year. Then afterwards we went to the City Fair. Great way to spend a nice June day.
AMOC falling apart will heat up the Gulf of Mexico and help drive our much beloved SE Ridge. Additionally there are some studies that show the PMOC (Pacific iteration) getting stronger for a short period while waste heat makes its way the Philippines. A stronger PMOC would make it easier to build greater ridges and keep the Eastern sea free of ice later.
Even if the Pacific piece doesn’t play out, a hot Gulf of Mexico into the winter will be very interesting.
That said, I’m just a computer nerd and this could all be wrong, but I’ll defer to @Meatyorologist, @Tanis Leach, and @the_convergence_zone
Amazing how cold the south shore of Vancouver Island can be in these strong pushes. Only 50 at Sheringham right now. Winds gusting to 55 just east of there.
Went kayaking again today out near vashon island and saw orcas again. I had only seen orcas twice in my life before this weekend. Got lucky enough to see them twice just this weekend.
