It is another warm and absolutely beautiful day. This time of year is one of my favorites because it's almost always guaranteed to have some sort of stretch of perfect sunny and warm weather.
As opposed to the winter where it's basically like a ballgame season of intensity here, with each model run feeling like a ballgame that generally creates some sort of powerful emotional response from all of us. Which is fun, and sometimes you win it all like Dec 2008 for SEA or late Feb 2019 for EUG, but also can be disappointing at times, like 2002-03, just depends on the year.
No matter what, I'm excited for the prospects and setup for this coming winter based on what appears to be a fairly stacked deck of a team kinda like the Ravens.
It would be really nice to have a -10 850s event or better down here again. Something akin to Dec 2013 but with more significant banding and subsequent below zero temps until some sort of undercutting and overrunning ARKstorm slams into California and various ramifications happen here, then another giant Alaska block builds and repeats the process of dropping an extremely deep and powerful Arctic airmass over the region down to southern Oregon.
A Chinese probe has returned to Earth carrying the first samples ever taken from the far side of the moon. Chinese state television broadcast images Tuesday of the capsule holding the samples, as it floated down under parachute onto the grassy steppe of Inner Mongolia.
Scientists say the rocks inside the little space capsule could open a new window into how our nearest neighbor formed.
