Something interesting happened when I was mowing the grass earlier. A utility truck parked in front of my house and a guy got out and started walking toward me. He said they had gotten a ticket to shut down service at my address. I must've had the biggest "you gotta be f'n kidding me" look on my face ever, lol. Turned out to be a mistake... they had my address for some unknown reason.
Anyway, we ended up talking for several minutes. He came in from downstate Indiana. He said that this is the worst storm he has ever worked on in Indiana, and the second worst non-hurricane that he has worked anywhere. The worst one was the Cedar Rapids derecho. He said that the damage to the infrastructure around here was worse than some of the hurricanes he has worked, and I've read about other people saying that kind of thing as well. He said that he worked Hurricane Michael though and that the damage in that one was very bad. I didn't let him know how much of a weather weenie I am, but these other storms that he was talking about were easily recognizable to me of course.
Was in western OR (mainly the coast near Coos Bay) Wed-Sat. Had a great time fishing, crabbing, and UTVing with my brothers and dad.
Weather never got above 65 on the coast with just limited sun on Thursday afternoon.
