This is well said to me. The issue is that these things aren't linear, which is also why attribution is harder. But a 2F warmer globe can also mean that water evaporates faster during dry conditions so it can become easier to get more than 2F warmer under a big ridge (etc). We don't know all the ins and outs of course, but non-linear effects are definitely a thing.
