Context matters for those of us who follow things closely enough to differentiate what he said vs what he meant. Context doesn't matter for those who are not tapped in constantly but instead get their news from clips and sound bites. Context doesn't matter when your political opponents will use your own words against you to claim their characterization of you is accurate, in the case of Trump's comments on Liz Cheney.
I'll give you another example: the recent comments by Mark Cuban. He said something that sounded an awful lot like he was calling women Trump supporters not intelligent or strong if you just look at the one clip. With context though, he was talking about how Trump doesn't want Nikki Haley around who is a strong and intelligent woman. For a place like here, we can differentiate those two and realize what he meant but does the context stop MAGA from using that clip to try and drive turnout or fire up the base? Absolutely not.
In short, context matters in every arena except politics.
