Today felt cool compared to Sundays horrific heat n humidity! Mby had 2 thundershowers with .19" which kept the numbers down slightly. Temp 94.6 Dewpoint 84.0 Heat index 121.0 Its unbelievable to say but it felt better than Sunday!

This is a hell of a density of severe reports from around Chicago to Cincinnati. This narrow corridor is responsible for well over 200 reports

Still think it’s too far to be sure, particularly west of the Cascades. Running +1.7 for July, so while it’s by no means an extremely warm month, it is another summer month that’s fairly warmer than average for my area.

If we miss out on this potential round of rain, we will almost certainly slip back into moderate drought once again. At least we will get a bit of a break from the oppressive heat though... three straight days of 105-115 heat index was enough for me!
