One of the most underrated places in the country honestly, both from a climate & geographic standpoint as well as cultural.
Near perfect climate here. Around 125"/yr of heavy lake effect snow in the winter, so enough that you never feel deprived of snow, but it also doesn't get so overwhelming that it's enough to make even most snow weenies sick of it like can happen in the UP. Winter temps are steadily below freezing, but it usually doesn't dip below 20 because of the influence of Lake Michigan. Perfect for snow lovers without the constant bone chilling, unbearable cold you often get in places like Minnesota.
Summers are pretty consistently between 70 and 80 a good mix of sunshine and occasional storms/downpours, but no tornados like you get further south. Super lush and green, with beautiful beaches, massive sand dunes, and turquoise, clear lakes everywhere.
