Funny story, I worked for DirecTV first, we got bought out by AT&T, after I left AT&T they sold DirecTV back to DirecTV LOL, no joke and things have been weird since, my brother in law still works for DirecTV and workload/customers at least locally are dwindling.

On that FSU channel broadcast above they were saying they should boycott the bowl game.

That is also a good point on Georgia.

That seems unlikely. Unfortunately college football has always been an incredibly subjective. It's why Miami and UW both claim the 1991-92 title and BYU claims a national championship. It's gotten better, but as long as there is subjective criteria we will always have controversy.

I think that cable is dying too and would be going faster if not for the fact that they provide internet. If we could get good internet through anyone else (except StarLink), we would drop Xfinity.

A long time ago, we used to have DirecTV and Century Link for internet. But Century Link was too slow so we had to move to Xfinity. And that's when we dropped DirecTV, but we went to over the air and streaming. Can't wait for cell internet to get better.

Where we live we only have satellite options for internet and tv. We have Starlink for internet now, we used to have HughsNet and that was dial up equivalent and downright awful...But reliable. Starlink is much faster but the reliability has been suspect, just like with Elon’s vehicles. We are on our 4th cord (in a span of 4 months, knock on wood this latest cord has lasted 10 months now) that runs from the dish to the router…The cords are garbage and a widespread issue. We are able to stream with Starlink but with so many trees on our property we do have obstructions which slows things a bit which causes occasional buffering/grainy video when I stream Thursday night football on Amazon. If we had the option of fast internet that runs to the house I would dump directv in an instant and stream everything, but that’s not quite an option yet.
First world problems, but it is what it is lol.

Exactly the same here with a painfully slow Century Link for a long time and then going to much faster Xfinity.   We just haven't dropped DirecTV yet.

Wow... DirectV has blacked out NBC due to contract dispute.   Can't watch SNF tonight.

We are on Dish here and they have not carried CBS for months now due to a contract dispute.  I was able to watch the Alabama/Georgia game through our Air TV antenna.  Occasionally had screen pixelation but for the most part the picture comes in very well and we are out in the country.

The 2000 season was one for the ages in the Pac-10. Oregon, Oregon State, and UW tied for the title. Oregon handed UW their only loss, UW handed Oregon State their only loss, and Oregon State handed Oregon their only conference loss (They lost a pre-season tilt at Wisconsin.).

The Huskies went on to the Rose Bowl and beat an overmatched Purdue team 34-24.

Oregon State beat Notre Dame 41-8 in the Fiesta Bowl.

Oregon beat Texas 35-30 in the Holiday Bowl.

When all was said and done UW finished #3 in the final AP poll, Oregon State #4, and Oregon #7. Best season Oregon State has ever had.

The thing that stands out most to me that season was Miami finished #2 even though UW beat them.

Sounds like Dillon Gabriel could potentially end up at Oregon if he doesn't go to Tennessee.

Nolan Smith the stud DL from Texas A&M hit the portal today and it sounds like he's almost a lock to go to Oregon.

Congrats to Bo Nix and Michael Penix for being announced as Heisman Trophy Finalists. Two outstanding players in their own right, both deserving of the award. Unfortunately it looks like Jayden Daniels is going to win. If Bo finishes as runner up, as is likely, he would be the first Duck to finish as runner up. Interestingly Penix finished 8th in voting last year. Former Duck finalists:

2014: Marcus Mariota won the coveted award.

2010: LaMichael James finished 3rd behind Cam Newton and Andrew Luck. He also finished 9th with similar stats the following year.

2001: Joe Harrington finished 4th behind Eric Crouch, Ken Dorsey, and Rex Grossman.

Penix is only the 2nd Heisman finalist ever from UW. Steve Emtman was a finalist and finished 4th in 1991.

Nice to see former UW Husky Jake Browning doing very well tonight in his second ever career start taking over for Burrow.   He looked sharp in the first half... 17 of 19 and the two incompletions were tipped.

And that interception wasn’t his fault. They probably shouldn’t be attempting trick plays right now though.

So... actually the two incomplete passes were thrown by receivers.   And then they just had an interception in the red zone also thrown by a receiver.   Jake Browning has not thrown an incomplete pass tonight.   And the Bengals are trying to be too cute for their own good.

There is no way the Hawks are making the playoffs (unless there are injuries to Purdy/Stafford and the Rams/49ers start to really struggle) so I’m thinking we should go ahead and tank the season to get a better draft pick. We need a really good fresh QB!

The 49ers struck gold with Purdy and he is only making $870K this year.   Just about $50 million less than the QB he easily beat yesterday.    So the 49ers are in that golden period like the early Russ years where they have a great QB who is basically working for free (in the NFL world).   When Purdy gets paid then the 49ers will fall apart like Seahawks have been since about 2016.

Bottom line... we need to strike gold again!

I think the NCAA should move the transfer portal window until after the bowl games and playoff. Sucks we will have bowl games featuring Oklahoma and Ohio State without their quarterbacks. Can you imagine if the NFL told players they had to declare free agency before the playoffs and if they did they weren’t allowed to play.

So far Oregon has just seen a bunch of benchwarmers hit the portal.

One good thing about being an Oregon fan is we don't have to worry about money being an issue. Confident Uncle Phil will remember us in death too. It has definitely changed the playing field though.

I don't think kids should have to sit out when they transfer, but they should have to play in the bowl game to be eligible to transfer.

Money ruins everything. The fans deserve to see the best players on the field in all bowl games. It should be a clause in all NIL contracts. No play, no pay. Says a lot about Bo Nix he is playing in the Fiesta Bowl.
