I've been in Torrence for the last few days (and will be here for a few more). Its been brief morning clouds every morning with afternoon sun and breezy, pretty much climo. Highs have been in the mid 70s each day.

Despite above normal temperatures inland the last few days, they have fallen short of the forecasted values near the coast, and we have yet to see a morning where the monsoonal flow wipes out the marine layer. Even in 2010 San Diego had reached 80 at least once by this far in the summer. In July 2010 they averaged below 70 for the high, which has only happened once in the wrcc history.

Looks like a fire somewhere in the desert this morning as satellite image seems to have some smoke on it. Also one they mentioned in Mexico last night, which they said should not bring smoke across the border. However if the fire did cross the border, it should be allowed to roam freely with no attempt to control it according to people like AOC and Gavin Newsom, with anything that would help it to spread further (health care) funded by our tax money.

I was standing outside after doing some yardwork just now, when all of a sudden, a heavy downpour began within a matter of seconds. Big, fat rain drops. Only lasted a couple of minutes but brought 0.04", first measurable precipitation of the new season for me.

Found the culprit on KNKX:
