Yes, but Transgender Day of Visibility has always been on March 31st. Well, ever since the day was thought up in 2009 or so it has. It just happens to coincide with Easter Sunday this year, that is all.

Has to be some day. It must be a conspiracy against Christianity that they chose a date that Easter can fall on (which is basically a good chunk of Spring). IT’S A CONSPIRACY! ACT LIKE A VICTIM!

Is this some kind of industry cry for help?
US-59 south of Sallisaw, Okla. at the Kerr Reservoir is completely shut down at this time due to a barge that has struck the bridge. Troopers are diverting traffic away from the area. The bridge is going to be shut down until inspections of the bridge can be made.

Missed that one.
It’s disconcerting when they have these collisions. If navigation fails you I understand but if it’s pilot error - oh man.

I’ve both piloted and been a hand on sail boats - tricky buggers. Lots of things can happen with the wind power but engines are more controllable.  Some of the film I’ve seen looked like they approached at too sharp an angle    Even 18 wheelers have to allow for more turning radius. The pilot also has to figure the current.

I think he just blew it.   😄

The conservative outrage machine working overtime to make it seem like Biden just announced Trans Visibility Day on Easter this year when in reality it's been around since 2009 and designated on the 31st since 2021. It must be so exhausting moving from faux crisis to faux crisis every week. How do they cope?

In all seriousness though, it's shit like this that makes me increasingly want to become an Independent. I'm so tired of both parties creating manufactured wars for no reason other than clicks, views, and votes. It's beyond idiotic at this point.

Was it terrible timing? I think so, but prioritizing that over Easter Sunday is what bothered me, especially since Joe Biden is Catholic!

Did he prioritize it?

Didn't he go to Easter mass? Did Trump go to Easter mass? Look, I'm not a Biden fan in the slightest, but on the one hand you have a president attending Easter mass and on the other hand you have a former president marketing his $60 bibles. You tell me who is prioritizing what.

The 'proclamation' Biden did was horrible timing, yes. Typical screwup from his White House comms office. But it is incredibly dishonest to frame this as him trying to "erase Easter" or "replace God with trans", which I saw all over Fox News and from Republican congressmen. It's such a naked ploy to just gin up anger with the base, especially when it's something that can be disproven with just 30 seconds of research. Unfortunately, taking that amount of time to check things out is just asking too much from some Americans these days. They'd rather spend their time in a perpetual outrage at the other side. So stupid.

Just saw the Jon Stewart interview with FTC chair Lina Khan.  I do not have faith in our government to keep the playing field level and let the market and consumers reap the benefits of true innovation rather than monopolistic tactics, but Lina is one of the most well-spoken and intelligent government officials I have seen in a very long time.  He asks her a question, and she answers it.  No pre-canned nonsense.  Kudos to her for fighting the good fight.  I hope she goes far and makes a lot of meaningful contributions to our country.  We need more young people like her in public positions.

And we now know why Jon and Apple parted ways:  AI and China.  Jon wanted to do a piece on both and Apple did not allow it.  Shocking, I know.

I hear there’s a run on nuclear shelters lately.
Considering I live 5 mi south of the Naval Air Station in Fort Worth I think I’ll just pour a tall one and watch the planes take off and bombs detonate.

Pretty much.

Why try to survive a society that thinks nuclear war is a viable option?  If you survive the fallout, the ensuing social chaos will make the survivors wish they poured a tall one 🤯

You have really lost your way. You are making excuses for the person who stood up and made a Trans Day of Visibility proclamation. As if it wasn't an intentional attack on Christianity. Many believe it was an opening salvo in a wider campaign against our nations FAITH.
