That’s the most important conduit to forest succession out here. Thunderstorm winds bring down some weakened/dying deciduous trees every summer and there are new trees growing in the vacant space within a couple years.
Seems like Jim has really begun to conflate dry with cold for some reason, even in situations where it doesn’t make sense. He’s been talking about this system being drier than the models showed because that’s what he wants to see because it would be a good sign cold in January and maybe some July frost or something.
Last night was a huge dud. HRRRR ended up being right in showing the line completely falling apart right over my county. Saw some lightning in the distance but that was about it. Yawn.
Ready for the upcoming sunny days with highs in the 70s. Need this pattern to be reset in order to hopefully score more significant storms, so hopefully this pattern change will get us a step in that direction.
