This is the last chilly day for parts of this sub, then looks like it warms afterwards as the ridge slowly expands eastward. I’d rather take 65° in Chicago than 100° in Phoenix tbh.

Snow shower. Stickage. And no, this doesn’t refute the March Jinx. I’ve had snow showers briefly whiten the rooftops in March before. Just no more than that. I’ve even mentioned (on the Canadian forum, not here) that this would be possible. Just no more than it.

We caught the tail end of a decent one a month ago in Kona, the pool was too cold, all day cloud and certainly no beach days.

Having grown up on Oahu, I can tell you, a proper Kona storm (which this looks to be) will impact all areas leeward/windward with wind and heavy rains for multiple days - no "beach days". Btw, the NWS discussions continue to suggest this is going to be quite the event - flooding rain and high winds. The severe elements are also impressive with models showing CAPES 1500 to 2500 J/kg for storms midweek....that's something you'd see in Tornado Alley! As the Kona Low deepens late in the week, the High to the East also strengthens and the Kona winds really kick in and those could be very damaging with the rain-loosened soil bringing down trees. Yeah,..this isn't a great situation.....oh, and my son and I will be there Sunday *gulp*
