Wetter than any June at SEA between 1968 and 1990. Also colder at OLM than any June in the 1940s, and all but 2 in the 1950s. And colder than all but one in the 1980s/1990s.

Just looked up June 2012... that should feel alien. Sitka natives would feel right at home.

It wasn't just 2008-2011 in that era. Warm seasons 2005, 2007, and 2012 were all a noticeable difference from this decade. A month like June 2012 or September 2005 would feel pretty alien now.

Yeah, the August 2023 heatwave was a beast and was absolutely on the level of any non-2021 heatwave for the Portland metro. Of course I'd wager that a 2023 level event will be more of an every 5-10 year occurrence now for us moving forward. 2021 level events will still be extremely rare, and then there's that happy space in between the two that we'll probably see every 15 or so years (e.g. PDX up at 110-111).

I assure you I haven't been angry about anything since that April snow event and that wasn't really angry... just annoyed. I did say SEA was below normal for second half of May which is true and will be below normal for the first 10 days of June... so normal and ebb and flow means we probably get a heat wave next. That is not anger... just observational. I still feel the same.
