I was telling my sons about the days when pitchers routinely pitched complete games. Seems almost unthinkable now. In game 7 of 1991 World Series the Twins sent Jack Morris out in the 10th after pitching 9 scoreless innings. Can you imagine that today? Twins won the game 1-0 in the bottom of the 10th. It was a great day in Minnesota. And then few days later we had 40 inches of snow in the Halloween Blizzard!

I was in my one and only car accident late that August. It was a sunny warm day and I had washed my 1yr old Blazer, then decided to run to the store to get dog food… The wrecking yard at least had a shiny clean totaled vehicle! That and 9/11 is about all I remember. Oh and when the top of the league M’s flopped in the playoffs. Oh and my insurance company was in the building next to the twin towers so it took until mid October to pay off the vehicle.

It's unfortunate that area wasn't commercially logged and replanted after it burned. When I was recently in South Dakota I noticed they do a good job logging and replanting their burned areas. Looks much nicer.

GFS only shows one rainy day in the next 16 days. That is pretty good for June. Of course many places are close to their June average already so that probably makes sense.

Took advantage of a quiet Tuesday off to get a classic hike in up Horsetail falls to Triple Falls and a little beyond. Made it all the way to the edge of the 2017 burn which surprisingly isn’t too far past triple. Weather was cloudy and drizzly with temps in the 50s, but the forest was vivid with green and blooming flowers. Recovering very nicely from the burn. Creeks were flowing high. Got a little soaked from the wet brush but that’s what waterproof pants are for.
