This snow was the last thing I expected to see today. There's about 2 inches, and it's even sticking on roads. Still coming down.4 points

Aww man it's too bad the politics thread was shut down. I appreciated it, talking to you all on there helped get me out of my bubble and forced me to do more research on things than I would have done otherwise.3 points

I've been locked away in a meeting for more than 2 hours, I was quite surprised to see what was going on outside when the meeting let out!!! At least an inch on the ground (probably closer to 2) and its starting to stick to the road in the Barkley area!3 points

I voted for Johnson. I have fundamental issues with Bernie's embracing of a Trojan Magnum size government and his Robin Hood economics. Sorry. He also caved completely to Hillary and the DNC. Sad. Speaking in broader terms, part of the problem is the two party mess and the fact that people on both sides don't like hearing the widely accepted truths about their faults. Trump represents such a wasted opportunity, as a largely self-funded outsider with a fiery disposition who could lay out the faults of both parties and actually call things as they see it. Not kowtowing to the party-lines but making them kowtow to you. A more decisive version of Ross Perot. Someone who can take control over the tired narratives and reapply some of these common "cynical" truths. The problem with Trump is that he's a childish and undisciplined nob with too low of an IQ and no real vision or principles to guide him beyond his own narcissism. Too bad, because I fear a doubling down on the milquetoast corruption angle of the recent past is in order now and the duopoly establishment will manage to reseize momentum here shortly as Trump self-destructs.3 points

Maybe we could do a photo contest this year for severe weather? It'll act as an incentive to keep this board active, and not insanely boring like it is around that time normally. Severe thunderstorms themselves are definitely some of the most interesting things to watch, and I think it'd be cool to have a contest on who can snag the best one this year. Just a suggestion!3 points

1.5" here in the grass and the CZ has slipped just to my North for the time being at least. It's gorgeous out with everything but the main roads caked. The other teachers are all upset we have school. 10.25" on the year now. Double digits!3 points

Wow, this is crazy. Surpassing an inch now. 31.7° outside - everything is plastered in white.3 points

He gets an amazing amount, but 1,100 feet around Skykomish definitely gets more. Further North so they get hit by the CZ even more often, and they are even more blocked from South winds.2 points

So far I've managed to pick up a half inch. Still snowing lightly. On the way home from work some places had about 1.5" and the roads were bad enough to where some people got stuck on the hills. It has snowed here a lot of times this winter, but only a few managed to put a decent cover on the ground. I think today is probably about the 15th time I've had snow this winter.2 points

Snowing again nicely here. The ground is still white from this afternoon's thundersnow and the radar looks rather encouraging. This is easily my favorite winter since 2008. The local squirrels and I won't forget this one!2 points

This would be IDEAL if it had come at night. I can't believe we've seen this much with the heaviest snow coming at peak heating hours. Up to 3.5" now. Probably about done.2 points
-
Approaching 1" here in N Bellingham. Snowing moderately at 32*2 points
-
Well almost half of the initial 3.5" that fell yesterday melted before it started snowing again... So depth is more like 6-6.5" right now.2 points

GEFS has 13 out of 16 days above normal. Good start to the month on the horizon2 points

Don't quite get this mentality. Were we posting #nosnowforseattle while getting our event down here? Or hoping you guys could join in on the fun?2 points

The Seattle area actually compares fairly decently to Virginia for winters, although Seattle is capable of greater anomalous snowfall and has greater potential for the occasional abnormally cold month.1 point

Looks like King County is far from done tonight. It will be interesting to see what surprise precip bands develop.1 point

Because the GFS has been so accurate this winter?? I'll believe it when its 80.lol1 point

If this band doesn't move about 2 miles further north I'm gonna kill myself!!!!!!!!1 point

Based on the radar I'm guessing an ESE line between Shoreline-Kirkland-Redmond-Fall City may be hit the hardest with a solid 1-3". I'm guessing I will be close to the Northern edge of where it sets up here in Mountlake Terrace.1 point

I spoke with Fred and he would rather we move it to the actual OT side of the forum. That way people coming here looking solely for weather info won't stumble upon it.1 point

I am really glad to see such a fun day up north. Down here it has been in the low-mid 40s with showers at times. Hopefully everyone feels good with their lot this winter at this point. Things have really evened out the last four weeks.1 point

D**n. You caught it before I had a type to fix some of my typos. But glad you agree.1 point

Yes, I did a tiny ounce of research on it as well, and when looked at in context, it makes a whole lot more sense that it does taken completely out of context. Sure it might have come off a little crass, which is probably why he distanced himself from it later on, but compared to Trump's ***** grabbing comments it is fairly tame.1 point

Wow. Do you think saying really extreme things makes you cool, you do you just ejaculate a little in your pants when you make statements like the first paragraph? You come off like one of those super dogmatic mainstream Democrats that are, in reality, just as narrow minded as the Republicans you like to harp on. Which is a shame because you seem like a pretty intelligent guy otherwise.1 point

Because the language was explicit and insensitive. That doesn't change the fact that the underlying message was taking a stand against gender roles in society. Anyone with a brain should be able to understand this.1 point

San Diego is getting hit hard. This should get them past their annual average like the rest of Southern California.1 point

My hope is that town halls adequately communicate citizen unrest/ feedback and admire Republicans willing to accept difficult encounters.1 point

Ended up with a trace of snow here this morning, looks like a few more snow showers may be on the way. The secondary low is beginning to take shape.1 point
