Of course we all remember what happened last time..it looked like a heavy +PNA/+TNH cycle was on tap, then it fizzled when it got to within 5 days.
The EPS actually face-planted hard on that one (and the upcoming CCKW is comparatively shallower/faster). So I think caution is warranted.
That’s what happened here in January 2017. We got a foot of snow and then it turned clear and sunny as the snow stayed on the ground for a good week or so. The clear nights with the solid snow cover made for some really cold nights. It was also beautiful to enjoy the snow with sunny skies. ️
Hmmm…the EPS has fully brought back the Pacific MJO/CCKW for the front half of July (the one I mentioned a week ago). It had previously lost the signal.
If it holds maybe we can pull off a week of +TNH/+PNA after all.
