I’ve been telling y’all for months, nobody will escape it once it really gets cranking. Even assuming the EPS is overheating the lower troposphere (which it is) the end result is still record breaking heat for a good chunk of the lower-48.
And yet somehow, tropical forcing/AAM transports get even nastier for the 2nd half of July into August. Hard to believe but that’s how it is presenting now. Worst setup I’ve ever seen nationally. I assume something like this happened in the 1930s.
And the PNW will not escape, even with the worst centered in the Desert SW and East of the Rockies. There will likely be multiple bouts of 2-sigma level ridging reaching the west coast over the next 3-4 months.
@OttumwaSnomow Ottumwa was the sweet spot today. That's got to be a good feeling. At least makes a dent in the dry conditions. And more possible yet this evening.
