ECMWF delays marine layer along the coast and any push inland until Wednesday night. Haven't seen temps yet but assume Wednesday has to be cooler. Marine layer even makes it to Seattle for a few hours on Thursday morning. Another ridge builds in again after the trough passes to the north but it seems more reasonable with morning clouds along the coast and patchy inland each morning next weekend.
It has dropped down to 66F at 10:40pm. Still pretty warm. Not liking the forecast. No real cooling in sight. High seventies even after the 80s peaks. Nighttime lows in the 60s to high 50s. What we really need is some rain to flush out all the fireworks. This heat wave came at a bad time with the fireworks. Watching wildfire maps for the latest info.
One of my worst fears came true on July 4th last night. Some idiots shooting fireworks near us lit a tree on fire and the brush starting catching fire at 11:40pm last night. Thankfully the fire department came and I actually saw it in the darkness. These idiot kids came running out of the forest with boxes of fireworks when the flames started and drove off in their cars. If it wasn't for someone actually seeing the dark smoke billowing out of the forest as well as the orange glow right next to the neighborhood against the dark sky, we could have had a disastrous fire here in Everett.
Looks like 850s level out or even drop a bit the next couple days, at least over the Portland area. Will be interested to see how that translates to high temps. Every day we avoid triple digits is a win.
Looks like things spike a bit again Monday/Tuesday before we finally get some sort of marine push, although it wouldn’t surprise me to see that get pushed farther out again.
I think in some sense he suspects it, even though he has difficulty acknowledging it. His admission that he has as of yet not watched his own performance during the debate was revealing.
It wasn’t a disaster, but he didn’t knock it out of the park.
Given his current situation, Biden needed to really knock it out of the park in that interview.
