That map just made me LOL. One of the strangest snowfall maps I can remember. As you said, can't win 'em all. Harrison was virtually ground zero for combined snow totals with the January snow blitz. Nov snows here is much more likely per climo, but it would hardly be the first time I saw snows hit around mby first. Even in 2013 there were decent snows elsewhere, before Marshall on over to Detroit was bulls eyed for their all-time #1 winter.
APX Met not too happy if it plays out like this btw:
A distinct possibility late this coming week is that
we watch states surrounding us snow (potentially significantly)
while we are stuck under periodic rain with temperatures in the upper
30s to near 40 degrees. Pretty wild that we`re still grasping as
straws for the season`s first accumulating snow anywhere in APX`s
footprint. That all said, could low-level temps cool a degree or
two, enough to support a bit of snow mixing in at times across the
higher terrain? Sure, but not getting my hopes up.
This is last nights Euro weeklies, but lots of super cold members on there too. The control and the mean make it look like the Extended EPS doesn't see anything in December, but it's just being balanced out by a few torchy members. At least half the members smell something.
