I was so used to voting by mail in WA state that it was kind of exciting when I went in person on Election Day when we moved to SD a couple years ago. It was the midterms but still a good vibe. Just feels different than filling it out at the kitchen table. I'm interested to see how it looks in a presidential year.
Abortion, marijuana, gender pronouns, open primaries, and taxes on groceries are up for a vote in SD among other things. Presidential/Congressional races are the flashiest but often times the local/state elections can have a much more direct impact on citizens lives. Very curious how everything will end up in SD.
Also, I still have yet to vote. Apparently I can vote early here, but I genuinely do not know where, as the state's website for in-person early voting is absolute sh!t and I didn't want a mail-in ballot. So looks like I'll be voting on election day!
I had to go through DEI training at my current job. Almost made me want to apply for the next DEI opening here, it seems like they get paid the big bucks to do nothing.
