Actually been a beautiful fall day here overall! Sunny, mild with a light breeze. The perfect fall storm ;)

It wasn't quite that nice.  We had quite a bit of rain here earlier.

Don't need the models now... we can see it going into Vancouver Island right now.

Calm with sun breaks here now.   Much nicer than the last 2 days overall.    Yesterday was terrible here... wind and rain most of the day.

KOMO news on right now is tough to watch.   They are talking about people needing to get prepared now in all of the Seattle area for the storm that is going to hit and hit hard.

Then they send it out to a reporter in Kirkland standing next to a small tree that fell down yesterday as a slight breeze is evident in the background.

So far its a joke here at the ocean. Only thing cool is the swells.

I can't figure out why Ocean Shores has been so wimpy.  Places near there have had wild winds.

Soooo Bellingham BUST??? Any idea what the weather at Whistler will be like?

Absolutely not!  I've got some rustling leaves in my backyard. There is still HOPE!!

Edit:  Nevermind, they've gone still....

The bottom line is a storm like this, this early in the season can do more damage based on the trees still having a lot of foliage.

I think that is why it is being hyped so much.

It had a legitimate chance of being an extreme event, but that looked to be off the table as early as yesterday for Seattle.

Still a good chance of winds over 50 up there.  Surface pressure is extremely low up your way so there is still potential for something bigger.

Kiro 7 zooming in on trees not moving to showcase the strong winds on the eastside

I have to turn it off.

Q13 found one tree down in Olympia and just spent about 30 minutes talking about it.

Then said how bad it was getting as the trees in the background were not even moving.    It was almost calm there.   Then interviewed the crew cleaning it up and he said it was their only call for the day.

How many trees fall down in Western WA on a normal day???

I feel like Jim with a last minute snow bust. I'm going into the garage now to stare at my generator and think about what could have been.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

There was never supposed to be much wind until around 8 pm, so commenting on the lack of wind right now seems kinda silly.

The storm is basically past us down here.   Its peaking for our area now.   And our local new is a complete embarrassment.

Maybe your area is different, but it looks like 7-9 pm for peak winds in Seattle.

The winds are decreasing in the South Sound... its peaking now for Seattle.

Watching these reporters standing next to the Sound trying to make it seem like the end of the world with very little wind and people strolling by with their dogs and kids is pretty funny.   They have to end their live shots and say to the cameraman how stupid this is right now.   :)
