Haven't even had sprinkles here yet, but it's nice and cloudy this morning.

I knew I was right to be very skeptical of the NWS's claims that we could see shower activity begin around midnight, or between midnight and 6 AM. I went to bed at 3 AM and any light rain on radar was still 300 miles away. 9:30 AM and still nothing.

Just after I last posted a couple hours ago, about 30 seconds of light drizzle managed to tip my gauge to .01". Streets have dried out since then. Radar is indicating that we're pretty much done here.

Now that patches of blue sky are opening up here, we can tally totals.

Initial NWS prediction for my area: 0.2"-0.3"

Revised NWS prediction: 0.1"-0.2"

Actual totals: <0.01"

I wasn't alone in my area either. Confirmed on Wunderground that other rain gauges in my area received the same total as me, or nothing at all.

Normally they do but that’s moisture that can be tapped into by passing fronts that head our way

I got to see the actual horizon in filtered light over the ocean today, and it was glorious. In a place that has marine inversions present over 300 days a year, you have to cherish these views.
