I think July could end up slightly to moderately warmer than normal in the PNW as well. Only month that has a legitimate “cool” signal in the analog pool is June. August does look the warmest with respect to average, though.
I (originally) figured there was a 50/50 chance June could end up cooler than average out this way as well. But that ship has sailed. And developing niñas that torch here in June always get worse in Jul/Aug (especially the ones with in-situ -PMM/-PDO and descending +QBO). There are no exceptions I can find, even going back to the 19th century.
Sure, but it's all relative. Obviously OLM has always been better at radiational cooling, but it's well documented that SEA has struggled significantly more in recent decades to score record lows compared to more rural station. And a lot of that comes down to more development around and at the airport itself.
2008 might have been the time a lightning storm erupted directly over my house, hail began and the power went out. Most direct hit from a thunderstorm I’ve ever experienced, webs of lighting bolts directly overhead and deafeningly loud. Well I there was one time in Chicago.
