There was a weather chaser in South Bend Indiana yesterday in the middle of a lake effect blast. Never seen 4-6 inches an hour before. Quite remarkable to watch.

The 12Z EPS wind gusts are almost like January 2024. During this time frame, we were having a major freezing rain event with wind gusts between 50 and 60 mph. To loop the 18z NAM I should think perhaps a WWA would be needed further inland of current headlines. Even the DTX afd posted by @Niko mentioned 4" around the Tri-cities which is down-wind of Clare. Regardless, looks like it will really look and feel like the season here for the next 72 hrs. And for the record, GRR"s latest map has increased the coverage of 3-4" so that's better.

He shoulda submitted one, lol. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first case of some micro jack-zone avoiding the regular reporting network. My co-worker (Auburn Hills office) said he only had 1" in Algonac even tho DTX's map shows nothing that low for his area. So who knows?

EPS literally the only model that isnt absolute garbage for the forseeable future.
