jaster220
A Clipper is forecast to originate out of the Yukon Territories of far NW Canada and dive south through Manitoba, CA to close out the month of January. Models are varying on the strength/track of this system. Let's discuss the potential to add on more snow to this paltry month in the snow dept. Here was the 06z GFS... South trend wins out for once! Since it's a clipper I would be watching the trends of the Canadian as it should have a better feel for these type of systems. Per Amwx poster in OH:"dont say this very often but the CMC had this nailed from the get go....all other models were way too far north. Even last night models continued to come south....congrats CMC! lol" 1 Quote Winter 2023-24 Snow Total = 53.1" (90% Normal Season) Largest Storm: 12" (1/12-13) Oct: 0.1 Nov: 2.9 Dec: 7.5 Jan: 31.7 Feb: 6.0 Mar: 4.3 Apr: 0.1 Avg = 59.2" (Harrison): 2023-24 = 53.1" Avg = 45.0" (KDTW): 2022-23 = 33.5" 2021-22 = 35.6" Avg = 49.7" (KRMY): 2020-21 = 36.2" 2019-20 = 48.0" 2018-19 = 56.1" 2017-18 = 68.3" 2016-17 = 52" 2015-16 = 57.4" 2014-15 = 55.3" 2013-14 = 100.6" (coldest & snowiest in the modern record!) 2012-13 = 47.2" 2011-12 = 43.7" Legit Blizzards (high winds and dbl digit snows): Feb 2011, Dec 2009, Jan 2005, Dec 2000, Jan 1999, Mar 1998, Nov 1989, Jan 1982, Jan 1978, Jan 1977, Apr 1975, Mar 1973, Jan 1967, Feb 1965, Jan 1918

It's like 2ft above lake level and the true elevation just west in Oakland Cnty often causes down-sloping. We had posters in our MI forum that constantly complained what a snow hole it was. :-/ 5.3" total - 2nd biggest storm of the season for mby. Snow blowers in da 'hood this evening was great to see! Snowshoe
Reports of thundersnow around Eau Claire a bit ago with whiteout conditions.Didn't hear any thunder but I did get about 2" in about an hour when that same snow band moved through. Out snowmobiling and it was hard to see through the silver dollar size wet snow. Awesome surprise! 1 Quote WISCONSIN RAPIDS Wisconsin
Money
yeah coming home from work and it was pretty much a whiteout. North of Milwaukee and most of WI are probably above average snowfall so far this year.

Getting bulls-eyed by this clipper helps ease my pain of getting shafted on almost every other clipper the past 2 yrs. Now this is how a clipper is done! I stand corrected, you're a whopping 30 ft above lake level. My "2 ft" was kinda tongue-in-cheek cuz I knew it wasn't hundreds of feet.
