This upcoming blast has no streamer of moisture coming from the tropics- Hawaii or otherwise. These storms- while strong- don't deliver as much moisture as atmospheric rivers.

This thread of the forum doesn't take kindly to those considered fools. The response to posts frequently have a sharp edge without counter argument or attempts to educate. New members and guests can feel the chilly atmosphere.of the learned experts. Despite thier interest in California weather,  many newcomers simply move on to discussions inclined to inform and educate.

Rain totals since Saturday in Orcutt is 2.80".

Act rainfall | Avg rainfall | % of avg
Sept: 0.16" | 0.19" | 84%
Oct: 0.02" | 0.57" | 4%
Nov: 0.43" | 1.32" | 33%
Dec: 3.36" | 2.21" | 152%
Jan: 1.97" | 2.77" | 71%
*Feb: 3.84" | 2.72" | 141%

*Overall total so far: 9.78"

It drives me crazy when the "experts" pretend like this stuff has never happened before.  They have found evidence of past severe droughts in the SW United States that make anything in the modern era look like nothing.
