So far not much May Grey in Santa Maria. Its been mostly windy and shallow marine layer fog. No Deep marine layer either.

Yup, we had a wet driveway this morning. Even a small puddle or two in the backyard.

Reminiscent of May 2019 where we had cool troughy days where it stayed in the 60s even inland. The wind mixed out the marine layer so it was sunny yet cool. Chilly nights too. I almost turned the heater on this morning.

Central Valley also had some pop up storms during that time, even a freak tornado!

The lows was 41F this morning at KSMX.

The next several nights are going to be even cooler! Feels more like February than May! Very un-May like weather. Low's in the mid 30's in May is extremely rare around here!

That’s insane for early/mid May! It was chilly enough here that the house got to 65 overnight.

Probably blown out by the cold blustery air mass. Not much to base an inversion on now.

That said, there’s hope for a major warmup through the weekend. Fingers crossed that it isn’t just a fogwave by me.

The low this morning was a chilly 37F at KSMX! Coldest May temp since 1999!

Wind, wind and more wind! Every day the wind has overperformed. Looks like this month will not see much marine layer at all due to the cold windy weather.
