Anti Marine Layer
Bad news: NW flow could happen this weekend.
Pn1ct0g3n
We already had some this morning. Clearing is poor on most beaches except those in the OC.
Anti Marine Layer
Ocean is still warm (for now) making the marine layer extra-humid without the usual cooling effects. Yesterday it took well past noon for Fullerton to burn off but they still reached the low 80s.
Anti Marine Layer
Not as much monsoonal activity today.

Pn1ct0g3n
Eddy‘s back but weaker, and the marine layer isn’t as deep. They’re expecting some near record heat far from the ocean air, especially in the Antelope Valley. We never cleared yesterday, but it still felt mild and comfortable thanks to the warmer ocean waters, even after sunset.
Pn1ct0g3n
Cleared out here but not all the way to the beach. Inversion is very strong despite the still-warm ocean.
Reg
Warmer today. 98F. This one was only growing larger and darker by the hour earlier this afternoon, just east of me:

Anti Marine Layer
Monsoonal push was not strong enough to wipe out the marine layer. There's already a noisy gardener at the house across the street.
Anti Marine Layer
Cloudy at the coast again.
Pn1ct0g3n
Good news, it’s spared my area so far and the debris clouds are back for gravy. Bad news…I may have bed bugs. The Orkin guy is coming tomorrow. August and September bring the warmest days here but they also are when the blood sucking insects really come out to play.
Anti Marine Layer
The usual spots (Monterey Bay Area, Eureka) are staying unusually cloudy in the usual fashion. Meanwhile it has cleared off the coast at LAX for now.

Pn1ct0g3n
Nice pleasant 82 now. Today it’s the OC/SD beaches’ turn to be socked in most of the day.

Pn1ct0g3n
It’s been nice and sunny here thanks to recovered SSTs in the SM Bay, but beyond Pt. Mugu it’s a different story. And it’ll start to blow in soon as the wind turns more west.

A continuous stream rounds PC, rides the northern Channel Islands and flows right into my area. Very common. Last year it was like that almost every day for weeks on end! Reg
Hopefully by this time next month, nighttime low temperatures will have started to creep back downwards. Though we've had odd years where warm summer-like nights persisted well into the middle of October before finally dropping off.
