I would like to point out that I was called out by @SnarkyGoblin for apparently trying to create a favorable Trump narrative when reporting data yesterday as it came in from various counties. The above stat shows I was not the one creating the narrative, the data was. And unlike politicians and pollsters and pundits, data doesn't lie.
I totally agree with his take. Dems screwed this up in every way possible. They should have easily been able to beat Trump again. Easily. But they made all the same mistakes as they did in 2016.
Looking at exit polls, there was a non-trivial percentage of folks who viewed Trump unfavorably and yet still voted for him.
When the Dems do their post-election autopsies, they really need to take a comprehensive look at why the race went the way it did. Thinking that half the country are fascists, bigots, women haters, rapist supporters and what not shouldn't be the takeaway though.
