Winnipeg is not known for getting Chinooks. I've never heard of one making it that far east. Chinooks are confined to the areas near the Rocky Mountains. They are common in cities such as Calgary and Denver.

Was just thinking it be cool if the arctic was actually a continent. How much colder would our winters be in this imaginary world?

Checking in from Pereira, Colombia… I actually am a fan of the climate here. Kind of similar to Hilo, Hawaii with very warm but not hot afternoons, and it rains a lot. Amazing how green everything is. It’s raining right now but no thunder (sometimes they do get major thunderstorms with wind).
