  1. The last five EPS runs have trended stronger with the Eurasian ridge. In my opinion, that's actually the most important development, and a very good one, as it's key to decapitating the PV.

  3. Basically. I like to give my reasoning because if I don't I figure someone like Phil will ask about it.

  5. I edited the post and added this as you were posting: "In short...good chance the heart of winter is over for the PNW. That doesn't mean it won't snow again in the lowlands this winter."

  6. Just noticed something, this map would likely be snow for quite a lot of IA, but eurowx is flagging it as rain because surface temps are 33-34, while temps at 925, 850 and 500 are all below zero(celsius). That could explain some of the funky p-type calls in marginal temp events. EDIT: Here's what it came up with snow-wise

  8. Yeah, looks really disjointed. Have to have a pretty active imagination to think that state of affairs could get its act together soon after.

  9. I know of no births having taken place on any of our 13 space colonies or on Kabuska or New Kabuska. I'd like to think it was done on purpose to **** with people.

  18. Must of gotten to crazy in there...I've kind of ignored politics for the most part over the past couple of months so I have not paid attention to that thread. I try to let it go for about 6 months after the election. I have been paying attention the past few days because of everything going on, but after about the middle of next week I will probably tun it out until Summer.

  21. 7-8 days ago it wasn't all that unrealistic. Had the rest of January gone at a normal pace after my blast, would have had no issues getting 40+ inches this January. Turns out very little to no snow is occurring between Jan 15th to Jan 30th. 0.85" so far in this period which is slightly shocking. Edit: this also accounts for a few NWS forecasts which came a dollar short (01/09 prediction 6-12" more inches, only 3" happened, and afterwards a couple other forecasts which almost didn't happen at all) LOL I expect that's sarcasm

  23. Somewhat unrealistic expectations. We were always going to dry out for some period. As it is I'm up to 58" this season, just want 2" more to get to 5'.

  24. 1981-2010 average is 31.7" so 50-55" would be a pretty healthy winter.

  25. Virtually impossible to impeach a president today in the modern political climate...let alone when his party controls both the House and Senate. Trump could basically shoot someone in Times Square and avoid impeachment (yes a bit of hyperbole but not much).

  26. NWS Medford pretty much says the rest of January is quiet everywhere. I may end the month with most of the snowfall consisting of the first 9-10 days. LOL

  32. The talk about Trump being impeached is laughable. The same people who said he had NO chance of being elected are saying it. Hmmmm....

  33. The background state can shift in a number of ways. It doesn't have to emulate 2013..could easily go the other way. What I'm discussing is merely a conduit through which systematic change can be obtained in very short order.
