They need to follow the ECMWF surface maps. :)

The 12Z ECMWF shows the low slightly farther south than the 00Z run.

What about the end of the Euro run?  It looks like there is a system in the area, but I can't tell from Tidbits if it stays offshore or if it moves inland.

Snow over the next 10 days per the 12Z ECMWF:

System arrives on day 10 but its splitting... main energy focused down in CA.

Does saying its the best model available mean its infallible?

Does it anger you that the Europeans created a model that does better with surface features than the other models?

The last El Nino was a lot different for us, December was quite active.  I remember reading that a stronger Nino actually led to a more active early winter (at least for the mountains and for where I live) than a weaker El Nino.  I think Cliff Mass talked about that.

Depends on where in Europe. If it was Eastern Europe then I'm cool with it.

I

Poland and Hungary are the best. ;)

What's funny is I am actually cool with the Scandinavian countries for the most part. Generally they actually rank higher on the economic freedom index than the US, large social safety net doesn't have to equal totally socialist economic policy.

Plus all that cold and snow!

It’s to bad we have nowhere to talk about politics anymore since this might be an interesting discussion. But generally I agree. Unfortunately Trump is moving us nowhere near Scandinavian style policies. Opposite direction if anything.

I like the UK because they hate Trump.

Trump said this week that the oceans are small and they are "at a record clean".

Any intelligent person has to just cringe when the man talks. Even if you love absolutely every one of his policies... he still has to make you cringe if you speak proper English and have any semblance of intelligence.

I worked in the cold an snow comment to keep it weather related.

I do think there are major challenges to implementing Scandinavian policies in the US, the US population is so much larger which makes the scale of what would need to be done pretty daunting. But overall I support a healthy social safety net, I would be happier to pay higher rates in taxes if I knew that there would be limited regulation if I wanted to start a small business, and that if my money would be going to provide health care, support people in need, or build infrastructure as opposed to helping pay the $1 million a year in retirement benefits to a retired football coach...

As usual you are focusing on the wrong crap. Focus on policy, not personality. Attacking his personality you aren’t even going to make a dent, because obviously his supporters don’t give a . Plus it’s just lazy and easy. Educate yourself on policy.

He is an imperfect vessel...

Bizarrely I don't think he would have won without his insanity, he's great at getting people worked up, on both sides, but also his own side. Rubio for instance would have looked weak and Hillary would have wiped the floor with him.

Okay, okay back to weather...

Again, I pretty much agree. That puzzle is, why do you support Trump when it’s clear that he is moving us nowhere near anything resembling a stronger social safety net? Do you just find that the Democratic Party so distasteful these days that you are supporting him to make some sort of statement? Essentially trolling our democracy. ;)

Yes.

Funny story though. I voted for a Democrat candidate for congress in the midterms... I also supported Wyden in 2016. So theoretically I would vote for a Democrat candidate for President, though I never have.

We get it. You are obsessed with his personality just like the media. Big part of why he won.

Not obsessed now.

But watching him being interviewed this week just made me laugh out loud.    My 8-year old daughter can put words together in a far more coherent manner than Trump... and maintain a much more focused stream of thought.    And then Trump brags about his superior intelligence and his brain.

You need to get access to the ECMWF surface maps.    You would have known this was coming and that the main rain event is later this afternoon and tonight.

Nah. It’s pretty clear the stuff ahead of the main system has been weaker than advertised. happens.
