I had to drive up to Burnaby for work and got caught in serious hail, lightning and intense rainfall. Less than 50 miles away in north Whatcom County.....nothing. Both of these pictures were taken about 2 hours after the hail stopped. Still slushy accumulation remained. This is backed up by non-UHI places like Battle Ground and Forest Grove also easily being warmer in 1957-58. With a trace of snow. 1991-92 and 2002-03 didn't have a single flake here, and in '92's case didn't have a single arctic airmass or low below 20 here.
