Kayla
Models have trended even snowier for today (been an overachieving theme this season) so it's now looking more like 8-12" for me and 5-8" in town. Scott
Since we lived here, the latest first zero or below temperature at my house was December 4 (2008, 2013, and 2016). It look like we will break that record this year for sure. Monday night and Tuesday night are forecast to be 8 and 10F, but it seems unlikely that it will get cold enough to drop to zero, even though we are often a few degrees colder than downtown: http://f1.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=40.518014900000026&lon=-107.5494736#.WiREQUqnG1s There are no signs of dropping below zero anytime soon in the forecast. Kayla
Picked up another 2.8" here overnight. Brings my 24 hour total up to 10.2" This storm even bested the early November storm giving me my largest snowfall of the season. Still getting some very light snow but I think we're about done with accumulations. Very impressive storm considering the brunt of it hit during peak solar heating yesterday afternoon. Cold air is settling in now and should stick around for a while. Maybe a bit of a warm up to above freezing by late this week if we can break out of the inversion. Kayla
Looks like our dry pattern is finally breaking down tonight. Thought we were going to have to wait until Friday night to see snow again but the models have picked up on a weak shortwave diving through the area tomorrow morning. Should end the dry streak at 8 days here which hasn't actually been all that bad with the inversions set in. Still have about 6" on the ground here but it will be nice to get a little refresh. Expecting maybe 1-2" of snow by tomorrow afternoon. Friday night a stronger system moves in which should bring more snow than tomorrows system, maybe 2-4". All eyes then turn to Monday-Thursday period as the models, specifically the GFS/GEM show a significant snowstorm and Arctic air plunging through the area.
