Anti Marine Layer
Getting breezy and cool and starting to smell like smoke. Apparently an eddy has spun up.
Pn1ct0g3n
The fog cleared out by 4, but there are some low clouds about. Not real breezy yet.
Anti Marine Layer
After trying to push ashore yesterday before sunset, the low clouds got kicked out to sea again during the night. It was very humid this morning.

Anti Marine Layer
https://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/nephophobiaI like clouds as long as they're pretty and it's not cold and drizzly in middle of the summer. Rain with a temperature of 75 degrees is delightful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_derangement_syndrome

Pn1ct0g3n
Heavy haze in MB. We had fog for a while. Corner reads 77.
Anti Marine Layer
Less smoky tonight and a lot more humid. No breeze like last night.
Pn1ct0g3n
With the smoke out of the way it was easier to admire the intricate forms of the middle and high clouds against the sunset. No nephophobia here either
Anti Marine Layer
Remnants of hurricane Genevieve may pass by tomorrow night just off the coast. There's a chance of thunderstorms west of the mountains. Sometimes, however, this can cause a very deep tropical-like marine layer where low clouds reach the coastal slopes and low temperatures are in the mid 70s and highs in the mid 80s even with partial clearing. It happened at the end of July 2006 and also in September 2015.
Reg
1:24 AM and still 79F, much warmer than at this time during previous nights.
Reg
No lower than 77F this morning here, warmest night of the year so far.
Pn1ct0g3n
Hot and steamy. Corner already read 82 by mid morning, now 86. And this is the immediate coast.

Anti Marine Layer
Not many clouds from the hurricane remnants coming in here. If you want a place to cool off, it's 61 in Eureka right now.
Pn1ct0g3n
Warmer here than yesterday, but drier and definitely breezier as well.
Pn1ct0g3n
Middle level clouds increasing. Still a much stiffer sea breeze than the last several days.
Anti Marine Layer
Humidity is like the East Coast tonight (dew point 72 at John Wayne Airport), but the warmer ocean is nice than that chilly stuff we had in July.
Anti Marine Layer
77 during the night at times with the low clouds. Where did all that cold ocean water go?
Pn1ct0g3n
What a remarkable change, right? Still mid 70s at midnight here, which is kind of wild.
TT-SEA
What a remarkable change, right? Still mid 70s at midnight here, which is kind of wild. I posted the same SSTA map in the other thread... but you can see the explosion of warmth along the coast down there which is why your weather has suddenly turned very warm and humid. Anti Marine Layer
More than 800,000 acres burned in California fires now, most started by dry lightning from unusual thunderstorms over the Bay Area on August 16.
Anti Marine Layer
Solid low clouds this morning for the first time in a long time. Still quite warm and muggy.
Pn1ct0g3n
Sea breeze was still going at midnight here. Looks like there was a pretty strong marine push with some inland areas up to 10 degrees cooler than the same time yesterday.
Pn1ct0g3n
Drizzle and fog now. 71 degrees, coolest MB has been in close to 2 weeks now. Currently inland penetrance of 2-3 miles.

Reg
No breezes here to speak of, just as hot as its been for the past two weeks. Some cumulus towering over the mountains east of here.
Pn1ct0g3n
No beach clearing today. Back to Fogust conditions here. Beaches farther south (Long Beach to SD) have fared much better today, at least for high temps.

Anti Marine Layer
Central Valley could be considered California's flyover country. Air quality is about 10 times worse than Los Angeles and Fresno is a dump.

Pn1ct0g3n
What changed? It’s like we’re back to June, despite the warmer ocean now.
