Absolutely, there are clearly other climate feedbacks specific to the western side of the Cascades in the PNW that have lead to warmer maximum temps on hot days in summer. I think most climate scientists recognize that these amplification effects exist but I don’t know that anyone has nailed it down. I personally don’t know but I acknowledge that it is real and it’s likely something to do with our geography.
Yeah, the Euro is a bit of a high end outlier right now and the 12z appears to be coming down to earth a bit.
Still going to be hot and a triple digit trifecta at PDX is still probably a decent bet. Used to be really rare of course.
