While there has been a reported 35.8” of snowfall this season at Grand Rapids there is just around 1” on the ground in my area. I was on the NE side of town today and there is a lot of bare ground showing on that side of town. While much of Northern Lower Michigan is also much above average snowfall this season they too do not have much in many locations. I am a super optimistic guy, the "Think Cold and SNOW!" guy, but I am a realist too. I would say based on trends the past 48 hours I am leaning towards 70% chance of a continued progressive pattern, and a 30% chance at a blockier, retrogression cold pattern.
