Forecasted to see 70+mph winds this evening with the frontal passage along with heavy rain changing to snow with near whiteout conditions likely. Later this week our first 70 degree day of the year is possible. Next week the coldest mid April airmass since 2020 looks to hit here with heavy snowfall possible. Must be Spring in the Northern Rockies!6 points

Pretty remarkable how dry this storm will be in the lowlands and how wet it will be in the mountains. Maybe I'm just used to all the atmospheric rivers we've had this year, but I probably won't even pick up an inch of rain here while the strong orographic lift will lead to 5-7" in the Olympics/Cascades. Anyways, gusts close to 40 mph so far this morning and 0.34" in the bucket, mostly from a thunderstorm that rolled through just after 6 a.m. Mount Baker has picked up 30" of snow since yesterday morning with possibly another 30" by tomorrow afternoon so that's exciting.4 points

Can't lie, it was pretty fun guestimating when the next cell would come by. I have a direct view out west, so I got to watch a cell pass by, then the sky clears for a bit as the next cell appears in the distance. Enjoyable activities this afternoon!3 points

Had to go purely by the look of the sky and what the movement of the clouds were…felt like I was a kid again before radar at your fingertips!3 points

Pretty wild afternoon here with some very gusty winds, hail, and thunder. Winds were strong enough to bring down a huge branch on our fence which caused some damage and another 3 inch diameter branch blew all the way the across the street. Looking forward to the Tuesday night frost and significant cold snap after the brief warmup later in the week. Looks like April will make up for the very boring March.3 points

Alright, I'm happy. Got a flash of lightning and some pea-sized hail that just came through. All I wanted was some thunder today, so can the wind stop now? Pretty please?3 points

It seems possible some snow could mix in if we got a heavy enough shower. Still got a couple hours before things start winding down.3 points

Yeah these maps aren't always the best, though I can say it's pretty accurare for eastern Nebraska so the contrast from most of IA should be even greater than that map shows ugh lol.3 points

We tried to downsize in our move to Tacoma but ended up upsizing based on what was available in a move in ready state. It’s actually worked out well because when the kids come to visit there is enough room for everyone to have their space. It will eventually be more house and yard than we want to maintain but for now it’s all good.3 points
