Anti Marine Layer
Sunny this morning over Orange County while many other areas have marine layer clouds.
Anti Marine Layer
Desert is cooler today due to a marine layer trying to push through the Banning Pass.
Anti Marine Layer
Plenty of sunshine today despite the large eddy and deep marine layer. However, it looks like there will be more clouds tonight. Even the desert has a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and maybe Wednesday. Guest happ
Despite the scattered clouds/ wind the longer daylight allowed the temp to finally reach 70F late this afternoon. May showers would be extra nice this week. 71/
Anti Marine Layer
Clouds are increasing early this evening and the breeze is blowing steadily. Strong late April sunshine made the temperatures feel warmer than they were. Looks like tomorrow could be cooler before really dropping by Tuesday. Guest happ
The cold cut off low is definitely contributing to a very chilly day so far. Reports of very light/ trace to 0.05 rain scattered about SoCal. Currently: cloudy/ 63F

Anti Marine Layer
Marine layer clouds are aching to push over the mountains into the Coachella Valley. By tomorrow morning, they probably will. They won't make it very far once they hit the dry desert air.

Anti Marine Layer
As I remember last year, the May 7 storm brought the coldest day ever recorded in the month of May to a few areas away from the coast. Snow levels were about 4000 ft. For this one, snow levels are 5500-6000 ft., but it looks like coastal areas could be colder than last year. Sea surface temperatures are just slightly below normal. Last year they were above normal.

Anti Marine Layer
Rain is falling, but it's stratiform and not cumulonimbiform, which I would prefer over the stratiform. Once again Lake Forest is one of the areas with the most rain, being near the Santa Ana mountains. Snow appears to be falling in the San Bernardino Mountains and even Palm Springs is overcast this second day of January, I mean May.

Guest happ
Managed to record a measly 0.02 overnight but May showers are generally quite limited in SoCal. North Pacific storms lose most if not all of the dynamics to produce rainfall and the monsoon hasn't developed yet. Noteworthy are the very cool maximums; 20 degrees below average yesterday. Similar readings during winter would have produced maximums below 50F; quite rare. At least we are getting in on "weather" that normally escapes us this time of the year. Anti Marine Layer
Northerly flow, inversion should be weak to non-existent, low moving out, so what's holding together the deep marine layer? Then, I should not complain about marine layer as they'll probably get some severe weather and tornadoes moves past the Rockies.

Jesse
Wow, snow in May in Southern CA! Probably not that unusual historically. Anti Marine Layer
Reverse clearing again today. When the sun does come out, the warmth reconvects the clouds and it's gloomy again within a few minutes. Still thinking inversion will not form at a lower height in until tomorrow afternoon.
