Anti Marine Layer
72 F on top of the tramway, 112 F in Palm Springs. Quite a difference. Same kind of difference from the coast to the desert, but the drier air in the mountains always feels warmer than marine layer at the same temperature despite the claim that humidity is supposed to make it feel hotter. Anti Marine Layer
Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is gone for tomorrow for the mountains and deserts. Just partly cloudy now before some record low maximum temperatures possible this weekend.

Anti Marine Layer
Looks like hottest day so far west of the mountains and today is my last full day in the desert. HUGE two day temperature drop everywhere coming up, which means roller coaster season has not ended yet.
Guest happ
A bit toasty but not the hottest day of the year so far [96F on April 9th]. 94/
Anti Marine Layer
Just as hot in the desert as yesterday today and hotter than yesterday towards the coast. However, the onshore push has begun as winds have kicked up in the desert. Very similar pattern to the May 11 low ahead.
Anti Marine Layer
Cloudy even in the desert this morning. Very cool weekend ahead, but maybe not as cool as it could be due to above average sea surface temperatures in the bight. It will be quite a change returning to the June Gloom after 2 days of 112 F. Anti Marine Layer
Record low highs more likely next 2 days as the exceptionally cool and cloudy June 2003 has one of its few non gloomy days on the 16th and 17th. Still pretty warm today back in Lake Forest.

Guest happ
Not the rainy season. Of-course but with Pacific tropical activity so close by it is frustrating. California stands out as the least rain-friendly atmosphere in the U.S. especially grievous when ocean temps are warmer than Virginia. Anti Marine Layer
Temperatures are a little warmer than forecast again today and the forecast highs seem to be a little cooler than I would expect the next 2 days given the warm waters in the bight. Many of the May Gray days last month also had higher temperatures than what is forecast for Sunday.

Anti Marine Layer
Deep marine layer now having a cooling effect even in the desert where Rancho Mirage near the 10 freeway is down to 71 F. Last year on June 11, the Palm Springs high was 87 F. In June 2003, they had a high of 85 F as late as June 22. Phoenix was only 82 F for the high, far away from any marine layer influence. The cool temperatures there were due to the remnants of Bud.

Guest happ
Marine layer has made it all the way into Bakersfield this morning. Stratus enveloped the entire San Joaquin valley this morning; how often does that happen anytime of the year [excluding tule fog?] Some broken clouds here; current temp is 65.9°. Minimum managed to reach 59° even under low overcast.
