Ended up with .38" yesterday.  Better than nothing.  Dry for now but Monmouth will be wet later.

Rain was focused farther south yesterday.

 

.75” in Roseburg, just great to see for the Umpqua valley.

 

I was pretty much average in October, so I don't mind sharing.

Wow. Abbotsford was close to 2.5” storm total.

 

 

Yeah... this pattern and even the pattern shown over the next 10 day does not really favor my area.    We get lots of breaks.

Nice trough showing up on both the GFS and parallel GFS for early December.  Numbers good enough for well below normal temps and some low snow levels with any moisture that's available.  Absolutely no hint of a Western torch as we enter winter.  I wasn't shocked to see Weatherbell shows the NW having  a near record warm winter.  :lol:

The low level details actually do look pretty nippy.  The ECMWF, GFS, and GFS parallel all show a few days of solidly below normal temps if they verify.

Up here it drops to 528 with northerly surface gradients.  Not bad at all!  I see absolutely nothing to indicate we won't have some winter this season.  My guess continues to be a shared winter across the nation with nearly every section getting at least a taste.  Probably a well below normal winter for the nation as a whole.

It will be interesting to see where the bulk of the blocking sets up this winter for sure.  That will have major implication for just how much cold the West ends up with.  Maybe a composite of winters like 1978-79, 1992-93, and 2013-14 would be on the right track.

12Z ECMWF shows dry weather Saturday and Sunday... then the main frontal band coming through on Monday with lots of rain for everyone... then scattered showers Tuesday and Wednesday... then almost totally dry after that.   No windstorm either.
