Pn1ct0g3n
August has started with a strong onshore push here, but the monsoon pulse has lasted into a third day so it’s hard to know how it’ll shake out.

Anti Marine Layer
Another reason marine layer increases fire danger is because it makes the air too stable to have summer thunderstorms.

So when they do eventually happen and lightning ignites something, there’s a lot more fuel to go up in a massive inferno. More frequent strikes leading to smaller fires would reduce the risk of a huge, catastrophic blaze.

Anti Marine Layer
Power outage begins at the house next door that causes no-sky all year round from my window. Builders never considered that a 28-foot tall house about 12 feet away would block lots of pretty sky views. Anyway, we had an outage a few years ago and they had power next door, so now it's their turn. At the end of the block, they're digging a huge hole in the sidewalk. So the generators will keep humming and humming.

Pn1ct0g3n
Already a cool breeze blowing. There’s activity to our west that looks to be passing over parts of the Central Coast.
Pn1ct0g3n
You can see the difference the warmed up ocean makes. Even with the onshore flow whipping away, the low clouds are scattered rather than a continuous wall, and it’s still in the mid 70s. Similar conditions a month ago and we’d be socked in with highs struggling to break 70.
