It seems that most Santa Ana wind events this fall and winter have been over-forecast for my area here in Orange. Winds were expected to be up to 35 mph last night and this morning, yet it was dead calm here. I am not complaining about the lack of Santa Ana wind itself, but it is a sign that the overall pattern is extremely weak and anemic, and seems that there is so little "oomph" to the pattern at this time.

It is weird to look down on an inversion layer just 100 feet deep where the first couple hundred yards from the beach have dense fog, near zero visibility but up at my house (which is on a hill) it’s full sun and the steam from the refineries is still going straight up without resistance. it is freaky.

Nope, just live in a typical coastal Valley location. Lompoc was 29F this morning!

Sudden return of the low clouds out of nowhere, propelled by a powerful breeze. Desert areas are skirting the low 80s today so I’m not surprised.

Average season-to-date precipitation is quickly catching up to current season totals in many locations, while others were surpassed weeks ago. Season totals in areas like mine are about to fall back to below-average within a week or so.

I wish the dew points are in the 60’s. This super dry air is making the back of my hands so dry and cracked.

Sustained winds exceeding 30 MPH here, extremely rare for my location. Tipped my rain gauge, which has never happened.
