Interesting to see GRR not completely taking snow chances off the table: The mid to late week weather, and the possibilities for accumulating snow Wed night to Thu, remain dependent on subtle differences in the north/south position of the upper-level low and the deepening of a secondary low center along the frontal triple point over the Great Lakes. The coldest air has been favored to be on the southern side of the low, and with the GEFS tending to be farther north than the ECE and CMC, been providing more solutions with snow. However, the latest 12Z suite of the ECE has increased the membership with light snow accumulation (generally an inch or two). The highest 25 percent of ensemble members provide snow totals greater than 2 inches, with a few remaining outlier solutions that have more than 6 inches where heavier precip on the backside of the low might line up with cold- enough air.

Can't help but imagine what we'd be seeing if cold air was already intrenched with that bomb cyclone off the coast pulling cold air through the Cascade gaps.

Biggest signal I see in the favored analog progressions for first half of December is AK blocking and cold northern tier. Cold favored more in West the first half of the month, better chance for the East in second half.
