Yeah, this winter has been anything but a tease thus far. If anything, this and last winter might be excellent examples of what has become a pretty oversaturated market when it comes to long range products. It’s just too easy these days to fall head over heels for things that still have little value over 200 hours out. Hard to imagine what a late December through mid January 2004-05 run would look like now with such a glut of products. It would have been a month+ of run up plus three failed bites at the apple, at least south of the border. By MLK this place would have been a smoldering heap twisted wreckage.

We should be happy that we will have no more snowstorms because we will have no more of those dreadful days with temperatures climbing into the low 40's with steady rain that feels colder than at any point when the snow was falling. No more days with cold water dripping off everything and slush a foot deep off every curb. No more days where the windows on every car are steamed up and exhaust is swirling and stinking everywhere. No more days where you have to remove your coat and shoes when you get home because you are so wet and cold and so glad to be home out of that mess. No more all-consuming concern about the chances for snow over the next couple weeks. Winter sucks, let's move on to spring.

Even on the AI GFS, the cold never really makes it south properly. Super unlikely we see an extended period of cold. If ee get a couple of systems taking a nice track with cold in BC then snow could happen (Feb 2021) but thats like the ceiling to this.

Im glad we are getting the transition now rather than next winter. That lag is what 33 up 2023-24
