St Paul Storm
6z GFS holds serve and the 6z NAM with a pretty big jump north. 991mb around Dubuque and it moves to Manitowoc. MPX was about 2 hours late with their morning disco. They said they wouldn't be surprised to see a watch issued later today for at least a portion of the area.
james1976
Yup and off to the north we go. Knew it was coming. Does it keep going north? Hold serve? Or try to nudge back south after it goes north a couple days?

St Paul Storm
The distance between 18" and a complete shutout is about 40 miles on that NAM run. A span of 2 counties north of the metro. Nightmare forecast.

james1976
Id say St Paul is in safest spot. Id bet on it cutting more especially with the dynamics. You may end up jackpot and N WI. Steblow headin north?

Nightmare forecast. This has happened too often around these parts. Guessing it will be the end of me yet again. However, 20-50 miles north and I get crushed. Tony
Good luck to all of you north and west of Chi-town. This could be the last big snows for around these parts to track, my area for sure.

St Paul Storm
GFS already down to 992mb on the CO/KS border at hr 54. Big run coming? Very warm 2m temps that's for sure. Yikes.
NEJeremy
what a frickin' joke. can't believe I thought things would be any different with this pattern "change". the only thing that is changing is the temps, not the track of the storms. Jaycee
Everyone take notes from GoSaints, though he's been getting hammered run-after-run, he was humble enough to not buy into it. Stormgeek
At what point is it conceivable to count the GFS as a northern outlier? I feel that with all the backing to the south with the other models that it is misplaying something. Poor forecasters at MSP are going to have a rough storm forecast ahead of them. Â GFS has 40+mph wind gusts in your area with the snow flying. Â I hope you cash in because MSP has been screwed all season it seems. Â Late Winter is Climo season for big storms. Jaycee
So one bad run on one specific model and it's set in stone? Come on.Not my point at all! Just saying, a lot of people (myself definitely included), would be flipping out right now due to one bad run this close up. I think you both will do well! But in terms of keeping it cool when this happens, you guys got it down. That being said, it actually turned out to be a good run after all, especially for you!
